Summer is track season; and this year is going to be a scorcher with options galore for hot racing, and for all abilities.
We are already off to a fantastic start. The Sprint GP saw sprinters, non-sprinters, new racers and old veterans take to the track. All 3 rounds featured some of Australia’s best riders and up and coming racers. The racing was fast and the numbers were high!
CNSW has a number of State championships and open events as well as many Clubs holding summer racing. But the icing on the cake, the Creme de la Creme, the gold standard of racing is the Christmas Carnivals.
Sydney Christmas 5 Day- Almost as good as a 6 day!
This year Sydney is stepping up and offering the 6 day experience, requiring only 5 days of your time! (December 27-31)
The racing format is
- Rnd 1 Warm up scratch race
- Rnd 2 Graded Wheel – Race
- Rnd 3 Sprint Event (chosen by host club)
- Rnd 4 Endurance Race (chosen by host club)
- Rnd 5 Feature Race + Park Bikes Madison Series
Womens A and B and Mens A through E. Enter one day, enter all 5 or whatever number in between. If RAW Track is your winter training, then The Sydney Christmas Carnivals are your fine tuning for States and Nationals!
Not a racer, no problem, we have stuff for you too!
Day 1- Dunc Gray Velodrome, Bankstown Sports Cycling the warm up. Meet the racers, get a feel for the format, learn about the madison!
Day 2- Party time! Tempe Velodrome, Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club Bring friends, family, and others. There will be Bands, a Bar+ Beer (+++ Beers), Celebs, paparazzi, food and entertainment!
Day 3- Hurstville Oval Velodrome St George Cycling Club, picnic recovery- bring wine and cheese and enjoy a picnic while chilling on the perfectly manicured lawn at hurstville!
Day4- Lidcombe Oval Velodrome, Lidcombe Auburn Cycle Club – LACC Finals for the Junior carnival and competition is getting hot in the seniors. Bring your Cheering A game and heckles.
Day 5- back to DGV- NYE Pre party! The finals for the racing followed by presentations (beer+food) to get you all set up for a night out in sydney for NYE.

Twilight Club Track Racing Series!
St George CC and Dulwich Hill BC have banded together to create the all-new six-night Monday Twilight Track Series.
To be raced on alternate fortnights at Tempe and Hurstville velodromes though summer, the MTTS will provide graded racing for confident U15 and above juniors, seniors and masters over six big nights. Riders from all clubs welcome.
First event is this Monday November 28 at Tempe. As the prologue it will not be included in the series pointscore. More details can be found here

Bathurst Cycling Club’s Track Racing happens on Friday Nights during Summer at the Bathurst Bicycle Park Velodrome. Park access for Racing is via Vale Rd.
Junior Racing – Sign on by 4.15pm
New riders through to “Junior B Grade” – Sign on 4.15 for 4.30 to 5.30 session
“Junior A Grade” Riders and U15 Riders ride as part of the 6.30pm session

Coffs Open Track Carnival Closing Date: Wednesday, 15th February 2017
General Information:
– We’re aiming to provide 4 mens divisions and 2 womens divisions.Marshalling will take place at the entrance to the track (same area as sign-on).
– Presentations will take placee at the conclusion of the Errol Ellis Wheelrace at the sign-on area.
– There will be a coffee van, kiosk and BBQ on-site.
– Changerooms and toilets are avaliable at the venue.
– There will be ample parking available at the venue.
– Be sure to bring a picnic rug and chairs to keep yourself comfortable for a long and enjoyable day of track racing.

Great list of what’s on. One thing I always struggle with for the Opens is when entries close.
So say for Bowral, I suggest the post as you have done then in the smaller text: “Entries close 7 December”.
